Kerry Kirton

Kerry established Influence Consulting and runs the company as managing director. He has also developed relationships with major clients across the Asia Pacific region for many years.

His clients consider him to be a trusted and strategic advisor who is able to make meaningful contributions to their organisational goals. His experience, creativity and business acumen means he is able to tailor solutions that best suit his clients’ needs.

Kerry holds degrees in law and commerce and practised as a corporate lawyer for many years prior to establishing Influence Consulting.

James Burkitt

James is a director of Influence Consulting. He regularly leads workshops and coaches individuals, both in New Zealand and internationally, in the area of face-to-face communication skills. He works with professionals with frontline business development responsibilities from a wide range of professional service firms. Private organisations and government agencies regularly use James to develop the influencing and presenting skills of their staff.

Prior to joining Influence Consulting in 2004, James worked as lawyer for 10 years, including stints in London, Singapore and Thailand. In his last legal role, he established and built the corporate practice for an international firm in Thailand, involving many aspects of business development and influencing. This real-world experience ensures that his coaching is relevant, credible and practical for his clients.

James holds a law degree.

Mel McGoldrick

Mel has been working with organisations and individuals as a facilitator, trainer and coach for close to 12 years and in that time has personally taught, trained and coached many people across Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia.

Mel began her facilitation career in 2000, after managing her own retail business for many years, when she joined the Australian Centre for Retail Studies. Working with retail management at all levels, Mel designed and delivered a range of management and executive development programmes for many large organusations.

In 2006, Mel established What Works Well as a learning platform, designing and delivering training interventions for a variety of clients. Combining her management experience, educational background and work with a broad variety of clients continues to allow Mel to be effective in moving those she works with to real behavioural shifts in practice.

Eileen Camilleri

Eileen has been a facilitator with Influence for over 4 years, having conducted workshops for major professional services firms.

Eileen is a former intellectual property lawyer and has worked for a large Australian law firm and then in-house for an Australasian arts organisation. She has been a consultant to a major media organisation focusing on intellectual property issues. Eileen is currently a lecturer at the College of Law.

Eileen holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing), a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Fine Arts (Acting).

Chris Beer

Chris was a Director of Business Development at PwC for 13 years and before that with Ernst &Young and other international professional services firms. Over 24 years he has specialised in winning business for these firms by transforming their competitive capability. He has been recognised by their CEOs for his leading role in winning what remain their largest clients.

A large part of Chris's success in these roles has been in coaching and unifying multiple stakeholders with differing views into effective and winning teams. Chris continues to work with clients such as PwC, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a range of legal, engineering, architectural and telecommunications organisations.

Educated in Scotland and England and with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, Chris had a former career in Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs. He maintains a lifelong interest in Asia, in particular Japan.

Belinda Byrant

Belinda regularly leads workshops and coaches one to one in the area of face-to-face communication skills, focusing in particular on presenting and influencing. In doing this, Belinda draws on her career as a senior solicitor, her considerable and varied experience of helping other professionals develop their skills (including tutoring at university and teaching the Professional Legal Studies Course with the College of Law) and a long-standing interest in presenting and communication.

Belinda works with a range of organisations, including major companies, professional service firms and government entities.

Belinda holds a Bachelor of Law (Hons) and Commerce.

John Gelagin

John is noted as a highly professional and experienced facilitator committed to delivering relevant and engaging training. Over the past 8 years, he has worked with many hundreds of people helping them to influence others, deliver engaging presentations and build business development skills. He has a relaxed but professional approach and relates easily to people.

Before joining Influence, John practised law for 8 years with firms in Australia and the UK and spent 5 years with an international publishing company in management roles.

John holds a science and law degree.

Kate Peterson

Kate Peterson

Kate has worked across a variety of industries and developed an abundance of skills in sales, operations, customer service, business management, HR and training.

This includes 2 years with the Progressive Group, 9 years with Lion Nathan in New Zealand and Australia, 2 years with PGG Wrightson and 3.5 years with Meridian Energy as General Manager of Culture and Change.

Kate provides a vast amount of expertise in a range of people matters. The majority of her work however is with leaders and their talented people - those who choose to ensure that their investment in each other is maximized, without compromising what really matters to each of them.

Clif Shaw

Clif has gained wide-ranging practical experience in the coaching and consulting field over the past 6 years, from presenting workshops on sales and marketing to over 100 franchisees to working one on one with key staff to improve productivity and profitability.

Clif specialises in business development and presentation skills coaching to corporate clients and brings a grounded approach through having owned and run his own businesses.

Clif holds a commerce degree.

Rob Bialostocki

Rob is a highly experienced consultant and brings a 20-year range of experience across professional communication, consulting and senior management roles at a national level. This gives him the breadth and depth of understanding on what contributes to effectiveness at both the individual and organisation levels.

Clients describe him as professional yet relaxed, friendly yet focused, real and practical. Rob listens carefully, asks very good questions and fosters understanding, clarity and insight that can be immediately applied to business situations to get better outcomes for you, your colleagues and your clients.

Rob has been the learning and development manager for a global pharmaceuticals company and an international law firm. He holds a science degree and a diploma in teaching.

Duncan Ashford

Duncan Ashford is passionate about improving business performance and personal success through behavioural change. He now provides coaching and training on all aspects of influencing and communication skills, including presentation and relationship selling skills.

With over 25 years’ experience working in senior Sales, Relationship Management and Learning & Development roles with global financial institutions, Duncan truly understands the skills needed to successfully interact and communicate with people and business. He also understands regional and cultural nuances in sales and communication, having worked in the UK, USA, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.

Duncan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from London University.
